"We have to help the child to act, will, and think for himself. This is the art of serving the spirit, an art which can be practiced to perfection only when working among children."

Our History
In 1988, with a clear vision in her heart and a
Master’s Degree in Montessori Education, Asha Mahambrey designed and
opened Effica School of Montessori in the heart of Centerville. Her
goal was to create a beautiful learning environment where a young
child’s budding mind and tender heart could be nurtured with loving
kindness and educational experiences. Her 3-year-old daughter,
Meghna, was her first student.
Over the past 25 years, Effica has provided nurturing
care and education to hundreds of students in the Dayton community.
Effica remains one of the few Montessori programs in the area with
the original Director and Teacher, promising consistent quality and
authenticity from its roots. Families from Centerville, Springboro, Washington
Township, Miamisburg, Kettering, Bellbrook, Oakwood, Beavercreek, and
Xenia have trusted Effica with their children, and have joyful memories
of their experience.
Delightfully, Miss Asha’s daughter, Meghna,
earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Development and a Master’s
Degree in Montessori Education and joined Effica’s teaching staff in
2009. Miss Asha is proud to have watched the school come full
circle, with her daughter and first student returning to Effica as ‘Miss
Meghna’.
Miss Asha remains the Director and a Head Teacher at
Effica, while Miss Meghna has become the Administrator and a Head
Teacher as well. Together as partners, along with their dedicated
Assistant Teachers, they are committed to providing a happy and sound
beginning to your child’s academic journey.
They look forward to the opportunity of meeting you and
your child soon.
